2. My vision for 21st  Century police leadership includes. . .

  1. Using all of the styles ever used. Seeing management giving more freedom of decision to officers. Having officers work through the PBL process to get to a resolution.

    1. I'm not sure if I can get our officers to use the PBL process to get to resolutions. 90% are retired from the City and they have their own way of resolving issues.

  2. Thinking outside the box and promoting a problem solving agency, like I said previously we have that foundation and need to have that goal of long term sustainability.

  3. My vision for 21st Century police leadership includes convincing old dogs to learn some new tricks . This may be a lot easier to in other departments with younger dogs. There have been several changes in policing in my short career and I'm sure there will be more unless I can escape soon.

Encourage members at all levels of the department to promote an organizational culture that contributes to the department's vision by: Empowering members to critically analyze problems and implement solutions that enhance the department's ability to provide service; Enhance opportunities to collaborate with our partners to develop innovative solutions to address statewide public safety issues, empower members to critically analyze problems and implement solutions that enhance the department's ability to provide service, anticipate and react quickly to the needs of the people we serve and our public safety partners. 21st century policing will be about regional partnerships, information sharing and the ability to react quickly to crime trends

  5. I felt guilty over the last 24 hours about my short response last night and feel I need to add more.To be a leader and partner in providing public safety and law enforcement services. Embrace change, employ technology, and implement progressive training, enforcement, and management practices.
